Yes, another Centurions entry. :P

Cartoons like "The Centurions" probably helped foster a love of anime in me which has yet to fade. Although I knew that (responsible for Cowboy Bebop) was responsible for the animation of the series, along with many other cartoons of the time, it hadn't clicked with me until these last couple of days. The anime stylings are now quite apparent to me, which leads me to conclude that I've been watching anime for most of my life. :D

Oh yes, I also remembered what the first anime I ever saw was: Gaiking (Dubbed). It was on a bootleg VHS, with some crazy, computer generated, wireframe animation before the actual show. I don't recall if the intro was a bootleg "demo" or something, but I do remember that it wasn't used to replace the show's titles.
This was probably somewhere between '86 and '89.

Now I just need to find a dubbed copy of Gaiking. :D Scratch that, I've found DVDs. :D

A question for you anime fans out there.

What's your favourite era of anime?

My favourite was the late 80's to mid 90's OVA era. Incredibly high production quality, greater control given to the creation staff, no filler, detailed plots and character development.

Examples of would be: 3x3 Eyes, Angel Cop, Battle Angel, Cyber City OEDO 808, Dominion Tank Police, Giant Robo, Macross Plus, Project A-KO, Tenchi Muyo!

Please provide examples. :)

Who wants to go see Tales From Earthsea in Sheffield sometime between the 10th and 16th August? :D

I now have Area 88 (2004 TV series) and Kamen Rider Kabuto. :D

Area 88 is just what I expected it was going to be, if a little short though at 12 episodes.

Kamen Rider Kabuto is a little difficult to get to grips with. The main hero seems to be a real dick to everyone except his sister, but that will probably be explained as I watch more episodes.

So my download Goku: Midnight Eye just finished. I load it up, start watching, and annoying the subtitles look like they have been done by someone with only a very loose grasp on English.

So now I'm trying to find a version which doesn't have subtitles so that I can turn the naff subtitles into decent ones, with proper sentence structure and everything! Anyone know Japanese and want to help me out? XD

If you're going to translate something, make sure that you know and understand both languages first. x_x

Next anime to get, Dr. Slump. :D

In three hours and fourty-five minutes I'll be going home for the weekend. I've got some video work to do and some filming too, but only if it's nice outside.

And I'm out of stuff to say. x_x

Last night I sat down and watched Laputa: Castle in the Sky.

Once again Hayao Miyzaki has enthralled me with the beauty of his films. There's just something about them that's wonderfully enchanting.

Tonight I shall be watching My Neighbor Totoro. :>

By this time next week I will have seen all of Hayao Miyazaki's films except for Spirited Away, which I will need to watch at some point.

Pay day is in two weeks... roll it on.

I think I need to watch GTO from the start again. I've lost track of where I'd gotten up to in the series.

I know I'll enjoy watching it again as it's such a great anime. :3

After that I should finish watching Cowboy Bebop and Trigun, then move onto something else. Possibly Naruto, although I feel I'd get more out of the manga than the anime.

I also need to increase my manga collection. I've currently go GTO Vol.1, Naruto Vol.1, Trigun Vol.1+2 and Trigun Maximum Vol.1+2, and Akira Vol.1. I want to at least finish those series before I get any more.
