First of all I'd like to point out that I am incredibly tired right now. I've come straight from CF to working a 12hr shift, with another three to follow this, so this post may ramble.

ConFuzzled is something I feel immensely proud of, along with RBW. It's taken me a while to figure out exactly what Convention Operations should do and a lot of behind the scenes errors have been made in the past. Even after this weekend I realise that my perception of the role isn't complete, but it's a helluva lot clearer now.

I count myself to be lucky that I've been doing the same job from the inception of both CF and RBW, but also a little disappointed in myself that it's taken so long for the pieces to start falling into place.

Despite being run off my feet (along with everyone else on staff) I'm not sure on exactly how I saw CF this year. Sure I enjoyed working and was swept up in the inner workings of the con, but now that I'm sat at work I'm finding myself rather depressed. Once I realised just how quickly the weekend had gone by I also realised that the time I had to myself was incredibly minimal.
Conversations with attendees never lasted more than five minutes, I missed the PawPets Show due to scheduling (my own fault, really), routinely had little more than four hours of sleep each night and only two meals a day (one on Saturday), had about five units of alcohol across the weekend, and in three days I only suited for three to four hours.

And this isn't just me: Every single staff member has probably experienced the same things (except for missing the PawPet show in most cases).

Now, please don't read this wrong as I'm not bitter about the con. There are many perks that accompany the hard work, from something as simple the staff goodies to knowing that we've made 350 people have a wonderful weekend and proving once again that the UK Furry Fandom is not full of failures who couldn't organise a piss-up in a brewery.

Working 18+ hour days for fun is a mixed bag, and it is worth it to see the smiles on the faces of the attendees, but boy does it take it's toll.

I don't think I'd be so meh if I had tonight off work and could have stayed to the Dead Dog party, but such is life.

I wonder if my current ambivalent feelings are due to having to come straight to work after CF or not, but I certainly feel that I've not done much that I wanted to do. This must change, for every staff member of CF and RBW. I'm not going to let this happen again.

CF rocked but I'm annoyed that I was working most of it, didn't get to relax, couldn't get drunk, etc. Going to see if I can rememdy this for CF and RBW.

This makes me smile. Hot damn I enjoy playing Radinov.

Unsurprisingly I'm gonna be playing lots of Rock and Metal at one of the dances at ConFuzzled this year. :3

So, any requests? Leave a comment. :D

Back from CF now. My feet hurt like hell, but it was damn cool to work it again.

Unfortunately, due to multiple circumstances, both "Furries Rock!" and Swolf's Dance on Saturday night was cut short. My set ended up being an hour long and Swolf's was just over an hour and 15 minutes.

For those who are interested in what the full playlist would have been, you can find it behind the cut below.

As it went I was only able to play the following songs:

AC/DC - For Those About To Rock
Cheap Trick - Mighty Wings
Van Halen - Right Now
Iron Maiden - Fear of the Dark
Royal Vendetta - Hopelessly Lost
A Day To Remember - Fast Forward to 2012
Nightwish - Wish I Had an Angel
RATM - Killing in the Name
Offspring - The Kids Aren't Alright
P.O.D. - Sleeping Awake
Rammstein - Ich Will
Metallica - Stone Cold Crazy
Disturbed - Down With The Sickness
SOAD - Vicinity of Obscenity

All in all though ConFuzzled was fun. Next year should be much better, especially with the new venue. :)

At ConFuzzled a video (created by myself with the help of [ profile] calihusky, [ profile] exiledwolf and [ profile] frost_t_wolf) was shown prior to the Charity Auction to show off the new hotel. It was quite nice to hear/see the reactions of people from the video. :D
The video will be put online once I can find somewhere to put it (youtube is out of the question, unfortunately).

Now I'm going to go to bed and get some kip. I won't really be writing any sort of con report as most of it is a blur to me now, like some sort of waking dream. XD

Thanks to everyone who came, those I got to hang out with (even for a brief period of time), and to my fellow staff members. :)

I leave you with a few memes that were making the rounds this year. I'll add more as I remember:

A furry song done to "500 Miles" by The Proclaimers (expect a video sometime).

Right, heading off to the venue now. I'll be back Monday afternoon!

See ya! :)

Holy crap, ConFuzzled is just over three days away.

I've got everything that I need sorted out now. I'll be at the venue sometime early Thursday evening (between 5pm and 6pm) as I'll have finished a 12hr shift that morning, and will need a little bit of sleep. ;)

I'll be gone and most probably withouth Interweb access until Monday evening. If anyone really really needs me, then feel free to call my mobile; I'll have it on me all the time and will keep it charged up.

To those who are going, I shall see you there. To those who are not, I'll be online afterward. :)

Once again I'm manning the decks for ConFuzzled's first Saturday night dance, "Furries Rock!", from 10pm til 12:30am.

I'm running up my playlist now, and unlike last year I will not be taking requests on the day. This is so that I can reduce the amount of kit that I have to carry to the con and make sure that all the music flows together well.

So, if you're going to ConFuzzled and would like to request a piece of Rock/Metal to be played then please leave a comment here. I shall try my best to accomodate all requests but I cannot guarantee that I will be able to play any of them.

Many thanks, and see you in a couple of weeks! :)

A quick catch-up of everything since my last big post.

FC was awesome. I'm not gonna write about it just yet, but I really enjoyed it and was glad to hand out with everyone I met. :)

Went to the prospective 2010 venue for ConFuzzled. It's very nice and has a lot more room for con stuff. However we wont be divulging the location until CF this year. ;)

Managed to speak with Lev on Saturday about a Sekrit Projekt, which will hopefully be ready in time for CF this year.

I've managed to come down with a cold. Depending on how I feel later I may or may not be in work this evening.

[ profile] r4nger5 randomly gave me a PC, an Esprimo E5700 by Fujitsu Siemens. We use these machines at work, so I know how reliable they are. Finally I'll be back to using a desktop machine instead of my laptop. I'm just waiting on a delivery of RAM for it.

That's it for now. I'll get around to the FC pics soon.

Heading to Manchester today to visit the CF venue for 2010. :D

I really can't say much here report wise as I'd mostly be saying that I was running around working.

What I can say is that despite my feet hurting for most of the con (running around a lot kinda does that ;) ) I had an absolutely wonderful time. I'd like to thank all those who attended for having faith in us, and especially those who financially supported CF with Supporting registrations.

A few figures for enquiring minds:

The dealers did extremely well over the two days that they were selling stuff. Our con dealer table also did very well, which coupled to the amount of money raised in the art auction for the Badgers Trust gave us roughly £1,500 to donate to them.

The venue also pulled nearly £5,000 in drinks and snacks. Many times the bar staff had to go to the cash & carry to get more stuff to sell!
Not surprisingly, the venue is more than happy for us to return next year. :)

I'm really looking forward to ConFuzzled next year (I'll be staffing again, obviously). More info about ConFuzzled 09 will be announced at the end of July. :)

Just wow.

I had a slot of one and a half hours to inject some metal into the con. Not only was it my best set to date but a lot more folks turned up than had done at FC this year. I was seriously buzzing with excitement; every song got everyone dancing hard.

Seeing people dancing and soaking in sweat is... awe inspiring, because you know that they're loving the music so much.

I'll do a proper post later, right now I'm gonna sleep. XD

At 2am this morning a group of us (Badgerguy, Colifox, Devilwuff, Ember, Exile, Tryst, and myself) went for a kebab in Manchester city centre. After a night of dancing and drinking, greasy food was SO omnomnom.

I'm setting off to Manchester in 10 minutes. Back on Monday! :D

Radinov's all dry and brushed now, smelling sweetly of summer flowers. ^_^

I've sorted out some clothes for her too. She's gonna be wearing a nice little DPM ensemble; a DPM t-shirt and DPM shorts (with a rather sweet tail sleeve in the back, inspired by Cosmo). Gonna work on that tomorrow whilst at the YHA.

Obviously pics will happen, just give me a few days. :P

Radinov is currently sitting under my desk at work and as soon as I get home from work she's going into the washing machine. I've got some fabric softener to add to the wash to make her fur nice and soft. ^___^

Then she's gonna spend the next few days drying and on Thursday I'll get her packed for CF. I'll be leaving for Manchester from Leeds train station at 7pm, aiming to get to the YHA at by 8:30pm-8:45pm.

I know I'm rambling about CF a lot here, I'm just so excited. ^_^

This time next week it'll be two hours into ConFuzzled's Sunday night dance, the Midnight Blue Dance. BBF will be spinning the decks for an unknown amount of time, and I know that a lot of furs are planning to pull an all-nighter during this and sleep everything off on Monday.

Being ConOps Head and a Security bod this means that I will too be pulling an all-nighter. ;)

The LAST staff meeting before CF was held across yesterday and today. We finalised a lot of things here (especially some of the games) and everything is ready to go!

Personally I have only a few last things to do, most of which is making sure that my radios are charged and my bags are packed. Radinov is going in the wash when I get back from work on Tuesday and will be hung out to dry up until Thursday afternoon when I pack her for the journey.

I'll be leaving for CF on Thursday evening and will stay at the YHA overnight so that I'm on site to help set everything up on Friday morning, and then at 15:30 on Friday the doors will open and registration will start! :D

"Pack your party bags, furries, because CF is gonna be large one!"

Two weeks from today ConFuzzled will be in full swing.

Excited I am. :)

ConFuzzled is little over a fortnight away now.

I am pretty damn excited. :)

For those of you going, expect to see either an amazingly busy/stressed (and possibly bearded) psuedo-hippy gaynomoly or a hyper-active girly husky. XD

Less than four weeks now! :D

Well the ConFuzzled T-Shirt design vote has started.

I really cannot make my mind up between the following seven: Twll, Ember, Frost, Spirit Raptor, WingedWolf, Azra, or Blue Panter.

All of those are awesome for their own reasons, and I feel kinda sad that only one will get chosen as the winner.

I may have to give this some serious thought.
