Bike Update

I got my bicycle on Monday and had the chance to take some pictures today.

IMAG0165

There are a few problems with it, namely the gear shifters (early Shimano triger shifters) aren't as reliable as I'd like (shifting down is a bit problematic) and the rear wheel today slipped out of place whilst I was riding it. I stayed on my bike but until I can get a spanner (Thursday) to sort out the rear wheel the bike is unusable.

Other than that it's pretty solid. The saddle is a little painful to sit on and I'd prefer to replace the shocks with straight forks, but I'll get to that later.

Wow...rather like Chris Morris' character in the first series of "The IT Crowd", you'll have thighs that are "as red a fire truck." ;(

A road bike? Im surprised. As for the saddle, I can't recommend brookes saddles enough. I have one on mine and I'd never use anything else. They do add a bit if weight over a normal saddle as it's leather and steel coil springs, but once they bed in to your asses shape, you can't beat the long or short distance comfort. - murries

The saddle will get less painful to sit on as you get used to it (and as it starts conforming more to your individual shape, too).
