Woo *dance* FC here I come!
Sep. 26th, 2005 10:03 amFlights for January are booked! :D
I arrive into PDX at around 21:09 on Thursday 12th January and leave back to the UK from SJC on Monday 30th January. 17 days in the states is going to rock. :D
In other news, despite it being Monday I feel quite good although this is probably due to having my flight booked. It's the confirmation that I am in fact going to be at FC this year, the best way to start the new year. :)
I finished the DOS game Dune over the weekend, which was quite a feat!
Oh yeah, one gripe I have is with Atari tech support. I bought Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy on Friday and when I tried to install it on my machine it wasn't having any of it. The installation would fail after selecting the destination directory and then clicking "Install".
I tried all the usual gubbins or cleaning the disk, defragging and scanning the hard disk, making sure all my drivers are up to date and that I have all the current Windows updates, etc to no avail. As a last ditch attempt to resolve the fault (after Google failed to provide a solution) I sent an email to Atari tech support with my problem, the Dxdiag info, and the errors from my Application log file.
I received the reply to my email this morning, it was the standard "Have you checked this that and the other?" email, of which I was not happy to receive. I shall follow what they've asked me to do but I have little faith in anything they reccommend and will no doubt be sending them another email saying "That didn't work, cretins. Look at the error logs I sent you and tell me what's wrong."
On the other hand what they reccommend might work. We shall see this evening.
Anyway, enough of that for now. More later.
