Actually, I've got something else to add; a bit of a left-field concept.
The next time you're going to reply to a topic on whatever e-means (forum, IRC, IM, etc) just ask yourself this: "Would what I am about to say be accepted IRL?"
Perhaps a better example would be "If I was at a football game, surrounded by supporters of a rival team, and my comment was about their team, would I be going home in a taxi or an ambulance?"
If the answer is "No" then you probably shouldn't post it.
And if you do decide to post it then have the balls to back yourself up. And I'm not talking e-balls.
