After reading this post it got me to thinking. [livejournal.com profile] twitchwolf and I would love to mosh out at a furry con, but apparently there's not call for it. I'm gonna check that now with your help:

Dance, european dance, non repetitive trance,
vocal trance.
Some pop rock is ok as long as it's not only that :)
No rap or hip-hop for me that's for sure at least ;)

I've also noticed quite a lack of any variety in most furry con dances. Seems its either some form of electronic music, disco, or "traditional" dance/party music.

I for one would like to see SOME form of variety. I find myself not interested in attending these 'dances' simply because at each and every con, they're nearly exactly the same.

Granted, while most of the populous at a furry con would be frightened by some of the "extreme" music I listen to.. I wouldn't mind some straying from the traditional formula every now and then. Not necessarily to the extent of what -I- listen to, but maybe something a little different from what is traditionally played.

I can only begin to imagine some of the reactions on folks faces when immediately after some techno/dance song on rolls in some guitar-heavy rock/metal :D.

as a follow up (lol, thought of more stuff after the fact here)...

But I'm willing to bet that I can turn some folks into (at least somewhat) Metal-Heads. I mean.. "Wisconsin Death Trip"-era Static-X kind of blurs the line :)

One thinks there should be plentiful mozart.. whats wrong with a good rousing waltz to get the blood racing.. why, there may even be a hint of ankle! *gasps and swoons*

Personally, i swing through the whole spectrum of music. I'll go through a phase of trance/techno/etc... then a month down the line, it'll be R&B/Rap/and the like.

I can listen to pretty much anything as long as it sets/fits the mood, but i hate all of the three following things in music:

- Continuous growling, death metal lyrics. Some growling is fine, it adds feeling, but continuously throughout a song is just brain-numbing.

- Lyrics that are either trying to be deap and meaningful but are just crappy, that are pointless to the song (like random/repetitive "yeah's" or "wooh's"), or are sung by people with really annoying voices.

- Songs that contain that fckn annoying crazy frog
