The Lair of The Dark Knight

Wow, what a weekend.

On Saturday I went to the Sheffield Furmeet with greyscar. The furmeet was great! I saw loadsa awesome people I hadn't seen in a while. We also had Nando's in the afternoon. :9

In the evening I went to Hull to spend sometime with foxb, wolfpawz, and orona_red. Cue a much awesome evening of drinking and hilarity!

Sunday was spent getting up late, having lunch at Chiquito's, spending an age getting back to Wakefield, and then installing Ubuntu on my lappy whilst watching Snatch.

Busy but fun. :)

Saturday

I arrived late to the meet today, around 14:30. greyscar came and found me at the station and took me to the meet venue, where I spent a few minutes talking to balto_mike andshep_shepherd before almost EVERYONE disappeared. There must have been about 10-12 of us left then which actually meant for an extremely pleasent meet. tr_wolf was there too!

After a Pizza Hut dinner greyscar gave me a lift home and went online for a few hours before bed.

Sunday

Despite the rain greyscar came over and we went for a drive. We hit up Mitchells (aka Go Outdoors Wakefield) and got some camping gear for Download Festival. I got £99 worth of kit for £69, thanks to greyscar's discount card. :D
We also went to a few garden centres (including one upper class one where nearly all the plants were diseased!).

Monday
cavebearranting came over for a few hours in the morning, during which we chillaxed and Martin introduced him to State of Emergency, which he enjoyed.
In the afternoon cavebearranting went back to Leeds and Martin went with him for the night, so I had some rare time alone in the flat. Unfortunately I spent most of this time sleeping! x_x

And now we are at Tuesday. Only four more days till the weekend now! :D

Saturday: Working on the video some and cavebearranting came over in the evening. Was nice and relaxed. :)

Sunday: greyscar took me to York to meet some folks. Saw Lupe and met balto_mike and his craaazy flatmates! Talked to balto_mike about film/tv prodution (he's a film/tv production student) and he gave me a few pointers about how to improve my own stuff. :D

balto_mike also did a fun-run at York Racecourse in greyscar's fox fursuit and I was camera-man for the day. ^_^
balto_mike won "Best costume" and got a nice bottle of white wine as the prize. :D

Anyway, back in work today. This evening I'm going to blitz my laptop and reinstall a custom version of Windows XP home with the aid of nLite. Hopefully this will mean that my laptop will stop mucking about and I'll be able to work with it properly. I'm setting it up as a mobile editing station, seeing as I do a lot of it at Zac's place. It's certainly powerful enough [Spec sheet - PDF].

And that's it for now.

EDIT: I've decided to just do all of my video editing on my laptop now, leaving my desktop for general use (IMs, Browsing, Gaming, etc).
