Channel politics and not-being-told...

Once again I am subject to reform, and once again I have not been told.

All those who have read my LJ for a while will know how much of a stickler I am for being told about situations which involve me, and today was no exception.
I joined my regular channels, as usual, and chatted online for a while before noticing something strange in one channel. What was strange? I no longer had ops. I had had ops in this channel for a while, and now it was gone. What was the reason? Minimizing the Ops list.
What has annoyed me isn't the fact that I have lost power, far from it, I'm fine with it. What has annoyed me is that I, and others who have lost ops weren't told. Apparently, it was decided a week ago between the channel admins. It's like being fired from a job and not being told until you ask why your keycard doesn't open the door to your office anymore.

Moral of the story? TALK!

I understand what you're saying, it's a courtesy issue. The channel owner(s) and/or admin(s) should have told the regulars so you all would understand the situation. Maybe they just honestly forgot to tell everyone.

Kinda like when they changed the channel name because too many idiots kept coming in, even with a password set, and never told me ¬_¬

Yes, I noticed the Ops list has shrunk in the one channel I'm an Op in. No, I couldn't in a million years tell you why. Therefore, no I had nothing to do with it. Only thing close to this that happened was on Monday or so, coming in and Jouva needing to get someone to re-op the bots.

Was amusing that it was a FORMER list member that did the deed...

Hmm, I dont understand why it bothers you other than lack of telling you? I dunno about you but ops dont effect my being able to talk to people, I can just go on as normal, all thats different is sometimes you cant change the topic or kick anyone, but thats nothing major...

...then again maybe they were channels where you need ops to go about normal workings? I used to know a few channels like that...
