It looks like it's going to happen.
In case you haven't already heard, Valve recently advertised a position for a Senior Software Engineer to "Port Windows-based games to the Linux platform."

Date: 2007-10-25 10:22 pm (UTC)I run a weekly LAN gaming party at work, and because Linux is the platform we have to use for licensing/infrastructure reasons, anything Steam-related has been out of the question. Let's hope this means folks can have Counterstrike someday!
